چکیده

combination of a small surface coil with three dielectric discs (B) and an array with three surface coils (C), all covering the same portion of the object. Top view of the coil conductors (orange) is shown on the first row. Dielectric discs are depicted in blue, whereas the gray circle indicates a transverse section of the phantom through the center of the coil/array. The length of the phantom was 400 mm. The distance of the coils from the phantom was 25 mm in all cases. Red dotted line indicates the line along which the profiles were measured (Fig3).

Assessment of the Characteristics of MRI Coils in Terms of RF Non-Homogeneity Using Routine Spin Echo Sequences

Introduction: One of the major causes of image non-uniformity in MRI is due to the existence of  non-homogeneity in RF receive and transmit. This can be the most effective source of error in  quantitative  studies  in  MRI  imaging.  Part  of  this  non-homogeneity  demonstrates  the  characteristics of RF coil and part of it is due to the interaction of RF field with the material being  imaged...

Design and comparison of two eight-channel transmit/receive radiofrequency arrays for in vivo rodent imaging on a 7 T human whole-body MRI system.

PURPOSE Magnetic resonance imaging (MRI) of rodents can be expected to be a growing application, particularly when translatory imaging research "from mouse to man" is envisioned. 7 T high-field human whole-body MR systems provide a powerful platform for high-resolution small animal imaging. For achieving adequate spatial resolution, dedicated radiofrequency coils have to be designed to provide ...

Using a whole-body 31P birdcage transmit coil and 16-element receive array for human cardiac metabolic imaging at 7T

PURPOSE Cardiac phosphorus magnetic resonance spectroscopy (31P-MRS) provides unique insight into the mechanisms of heart failure. Yet, clinical applications have been hindered by the restricted sensitivity of the surface radiofrequency-coils normally used. These permit the analysis of spectra only from the interventricular septum, or large volumes of myocardium, which may not be meaningful in ...

Single acquisition electrical property mapping based on relative coil sensitivities: A proof-of-concept demonstration.

PURPOSE All methods presented to date to map both conductivity and permittivity rely on multiple acquisitions to compute quantitatively the magnitude of radiofrequency transmit fields, B1+. In this work, we propose a method to compute both conductivity and permittivity based solely on relative receive coil sensitivities ( B1-) that can be obtained in one single measurement without the need to n...

SENSE optimization of a transceive surface coil array for MRI at 4 T.

Parallel imaging (PI) techniques employ the use of multiple radiofrequency (RF) channels to transmit and/or receive the NMR signal. In the current study we use a finite difference time domain (FDTD) method to simulate the electromagnetic fields of a RF coil array operating in transmit-receive (transceive) mode and receive-only mode. Optimization of these configurations for PI is studied as well...
